The Summer 2007 was great. We live in Denver, Colorado and we flew in to Chicago. We stayed there for a week. Drove around, went to the Millienium park, drove along the shore of Lake Michigan, discovered that it was more like a beach than a lake.
One week-end we drove to the Wisconsin Dells in Wisconsin. It was totally incredible. Having lived in Denver and driving thru the many states during our travels we have seen mountains in various forms, shapes, sizes and colors of Utah, Wyoming, Montana, New Mexico, Arizona and miles and miles of open lands in Utah with no rest areas and various shades of red-brown and yellows. We have seen the plains, miles and miles of grassland, the Praries driving thru Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota! But the sandstone of the Wisconsin Dells took our breath away. Nature and erosion(water) what beauty it can create, it is very difficult to put into words. You have to see it to believe it! The kids were so excited to travel on the Original Wisconsin Duck an ampibian vehicle that goes on both land and water! This was the most incredible part of our Summer of 2007.
We also drove to Niagara falls on the Canadian side via Michigan and Ontario. That was great too. The kids have seen it when R was 3years and A was 2months from the US side. Now they are 11 and 8 and throughly enjoyed it. It was fun getting wet doing the Maid of the Mist, the digital camera got totally wet and refused to work for over 24 hrs, but it was okay the next afternoon allowing us to take more pictures of Nature and People, so many of them! Will add more details, video's and picture's to this post in the coming days Enjoy reading! PSS
